Meet the Doctor
Dr. Ted I. Kim received his bachelor of arts degree in Biophysics from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD, and his doctor of dental surgery degree from Columbia University School of Dentistry in New York, NY.
He also completed a one-year residency at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital and two years of pediatric training through Columbia University in New York, NY. Dr. Ted I. Kim is an active member of American Association Pediatric Dentistry, California Society Pediatric Dentistry, and American Dental Association.
Meet the Staff
Lisa Brewer
Lisa is our front office chief. She was born in Southern California and has been in the dental field for 15 years. She spent her first 2 years as a dental assistant and has overseen responsibilities in the front office for the past 13 years. she received her x-ray license in 1996. ¡°I enjoy working at Teddy Bear Dental because of the friendly staff, caring environment, gentle doctor Dr.Teddy and, most of all, my love for the children that visit us! Here, everyone is like one big family. I love it.¡± At her leisure time, she enjoys spending time with her three children.
Thuvan Nguyen RDA
Van is our full-time Registered Dental Assistant and is mother to a four-year-old son. In her free time, she likes to read books to her son and enjoys listening to music. ¡°I came to Teddy Bear Dental to work with a great team to help kids to have healthier teeth and a prettier smile. I am so happy here and enjoy working here everyday.¡±
Belle Pattanasinth
Belle currently is finishing her BA degree at the University of California, Irvine. She is preparing a future career in Dentistry. In her last 2 years with Teddy Bear Dental, Belle has been assisting the administration in the front as well as the duties in the back. She loves playing with her puppy Sassy in her free time.
Michelle Kim
Michelle completed her Bachelor of Science in Physiological Science at UCLA. "Teddy Bear Dental is a warm and friendly environment that not only provides me with training for the future but with great friendships and opportunities to help our young patients.¡± Michelle enjoys teaching, reading, and listening to music.
Office Tour
Our office is new with sate-of-the-art equipment. But we have designed every detail of the space
to be fun and inviting for kids.
Child-friendly Waiting Area
Waiting time will not be long but we want you to get
most out of it.We prepared a selection of books
and toys that will help your child get ready for
professional dental care. Books in our library
covers subjects on daily oral care, going to the
dentist and tooth fairy.
We also have a variety of toys for your child
to play dentist on.
Tooth Brushing Station
This is where your child can really shine. Both of you can show off
all the brushing skills that you practiced at home. Your child will
first receive a magic paint that shows plaques on teeth.
Then a singing & talking footstool will be ready for your child to
step on and start brushing. Don¡¯t miss any spots!
Open Bay Area
Your child will first get to choose a teddy bear to
hug and a pair of sunglasses to wear to protect the
eyes. Ready for a ride? Hop onto a cool chair that
moves up and down like an elevator! Then our staff
will introduce Ms. Thirsty, Mr. Squirty, a baby dryer,
and a ticklish toothbrush ? tools that will be used to
clean your child¡¯s teeth. Ms. Thirsty drinks up all
the water in the mouth, while Mr. Squirty shoots water
at teeth. A baby dryer is used to blow teeth dry and
a ticklish toothbrush tickles teeth.
While teeth are being cleaned, TVs hung in the ceiling
will play fun movies to keep your child entertained.
Back Play Area
Here, your child can rest in between stations.
X-ray Vision Area
Time to take pictures of teeth!!! Pick a teddy bear that your child want to
share the moment with, put a smiley apron on and sit still and
state-of-the -art x-ray vision will do the job!!!
